University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff shall partner to conduct a study on gambling disorder prevalence and prevention/treatment methods in Arkansas, if funds are available.

Study shall examine existing prevalence of gambling disorders in the state and available prevention and treatment programs.

Study shall collaborate with scientists and physicians to review current research on causes of gambling disorders and their effects on mental and physical health, plus identify current treatment methods available in Arkansas.

Universities must report findings and recommendations to the Lottery Oversight Subcommittee, Senate Committee on Public Health Welfare and Labor, and House Committee on Public Health Welfare and Labor by December 1, 2018.

Act is declared an emergency and becomes effective upon Governor approval, expiration of veto period, or override of gubernatorial veto.
