Children aged 14 years or older gain the right to select which parent receives custody of them in all child custody cases.

A child may exercise this selection right only once every two years from the date of their previous selection.

The child's selected parent is presumed to be in the child's best interest unless the court determines otherwise after considering other factors.

A child's custody selection alone cannot constitute a material change in circumstances for purposes of modifying an existing custody order.
