Justice Donald Louis Corbin was born March 29, 1938, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and died December 12, 2016, at age 78.

Justice Corbin served in the Arkansas House of Representatives (1971), Arkansas Court of Appeals (1980-1990, last 4 years as Chief Judge), and Arkansas Supreme Court (1990-2014) as an Associate Justice for 24 years.

During his legislative service, Justice Corbin was instrumental in passing the Rural Medical Practice Act, obtaining public television services for outlying regions, and securing funding for the neonatal unit at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Despite experiencing multiple health problems including two types of cancer and heart, arterial, and gastric ailments, Justice Corbin rarely missed a week of opinion writing and penned over 1,150 opinions during his judicial career.

The General Assembly commends Justice Corbin for his hard work, dedication, and contributions to Arkansas, and expresses sincere condolences to his surviving family members.
