Appropriates $4,500,000 to the Department of Correction for reimbursement to counties housing state inmates, supplemental to funds previously appropriated in Act 524 of 2017.

Transfers $4,500,000 from the General Revenue Allotment Reserve Fund to the County Jail Reimbursement Fund upon the effective date of the act.

Declares an emergency due to unforeseen circumstances making existing Department of Correction funds insufficient to continue essential governmental services.

Requires all fund disbursement to comply with state procurement, accounting, budgetary procedures, revenue stabilization, and other applicable fiscal control laws and regulations.

Bill approved February 28, 2018, and became effective upon approval with emergency clause in full force and effect.
