The HVACR Licensing Board shall establish a continuing education program with guidelines for instruction provided by state officials, equipment manufacturers, educational institutions, and trade organizations.

Active Class A and Class B heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration licensees must complete annual continuing education consisting of up to 2 hours of code training and 2 hours of technical or business training, with an option to substitute an additional 2 hours of code training.

Training includes face-to-face classroom, field, or laboratory instruction or online instruction as determined by the board.

License renewal applications must be accompanied by proof of continuing education completion beginning July 1, 2021.

The HVACR Licensing Board shall promulgate rules and guidelines for administering the program by December 31, 2019, with the act becoming effective July 1, 2019.
