When a court finds an individual unfit to serve as a grand or petit juror because they are not a U.S. citizen, the circuit clerk shall promptly notify the county permanent registrar to cancel that person's voter registration.

A person whose voter registration is cancelled under this provision may restore their eligibility by providing the permanent registrar with proof of U.S. citizenship from appropriate federal, state, or local agencies.

The permanent registrar must cancel the dismissed juror's registration, update the voter registry, and send the individual written notice of the cancellation within ten (10) days of receiving the court notification.

The permanent registrar may determine by mail check, house-to-house canvass, or other reasonable means whether active voter registration files contain names of persons not qualified by law to vote.

A circuit judge may order the permanent registrar to make such determinations or cancel registrations of unqualified persons upon application from the county prosecuting attorney based on sworn affidavits of qualified voters showing good cause.
