HB 1515 Summary

• Amends Arkansas Code § 14-14-1204(a) to clarify that minimum and maximum salaries for county officers (county judge, sheriff, circuit clerk, assessor, treasurer, coroner, and surveyor) do not include county-provided insurance benefits or other benefits required by federal or state law, rule, or regulation.

• Amends Arkansas Code § 14-14-1205(a)(3) to allow counties to provide medical insurance coverage or other insurance benefits for members of the quorum court in addition to other compensation and expense allowances.

• The quorum court of each county maintains the authority to set annual salaries for county officers within specified minimum and maximum ranges by ordinance.
