Eligibility for services from the Department of Human Services, including custody, for both aliens and nonaliens shall match the eligibility requirements for the Arkansas Medicaid Program.

If an adult in department custody exceeds income or resource limitations for Arkansas Medicaid Program eligibility at the time of custody or afterward, the court shall direct payment from the adult's assets for necessary services and goods.

The court may enter orders regarding the use or sale of the adult's income or resources that are necessary to provide for services rendered or goods purchased on the adult's behalf.

Courts are prohibited from ordering the Department of Human Services to pay for services, goods, or placement for adults in the department's custody.
