Designates the portion of Arkansas Highway 22 between Dardanelle and Fort Smith as the "True Grit Trail" in honor of the novel by native Arkansan Charles Portis.

Recognizes that True Grit is considered one of the great American novels and has been adapted into two popular films, bringing attention to the state.

Requires the Arkansas Department of Transportation to erect appropriate signs along Arkansas Highway 22 between Dardanelle and Fort Smith designating the route as the "True Grit Trail".

Allows the Department of Transportation to accept gifts, grants, and donations from private, public, and nonprofit sources to acquire, install, maintain, replace, or reconstruct the required signs if state funds are unavailable.

Became effective upon approval on March 14, 2019.
