AR HB1886

Amends Arkansas Code § 12-8-120 to allow childcare providers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and entities serving children or the elderly to request background investigations from private vendors not affiliated with the Department of Arkansas State Police

Permits vendors to provide one or more of the following records: criminal arrest records, multistate criminal records, national sex offender records, county residence history for the past seven years, and federal database reports

Requires that using private vendor background checks does not eliminate the mandatory requirement to conduct a Child Maltreatment Central Registry check through the Department of Human Services
