AR HB1901

Establishes the Academic Support Scholarship administered by the Department of Higher Education to offset costs for college preparation, assessments, tutoring, educational materials, and technology fees.

Eligible applicants must complete a department application, be in good standing with their school district, be applying to a postsecondary institution, have graduated high school with a minimum 2.0 GPA, and be 18 years of age or younger.

Awards $250 per academic year to eligible recipients enrolled in a postsecondary institution of higher education.

Funding comes from any remaining Department of Higher Education funds after allocating money to Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarships, Arkansas Workforce Challenge Scholarships, and Arkansas Concurrent Challenge Scholarships.
