Possession of less than one ounce of marijuana is reclassified from a Class A misdemeanor to a violation with a maximum fine of $200.

Possession of one ounce or more but less than four ounces with four previous convictions remains a Class D felony, but violations under the new provision do not count as previous convictions.

Possession thresholds and penalties remain unchanged for larger quantities: four ounces to ten pounds is Class D felony, ten to twenty-five pounds is Class C felony, twenty-five to one hundred pounds is Class B felony, and one hundred to five hundred pounds is Class A felony.
