Public water authority boards may elect by majority vote to participate in the Arkansas Public Employees' Retirement System and allow full-time employees to become members.

Public water authorities that elect to participate must pay contributions required by the Board of Trustees of the Arkansas Public Employees' Retirement System in accordance with § 24-4-101 et seq.

Adds "public water authority employees" to the definition of "nonstate employees" eligible for membership in the Arkansas Public Employees' Retirement System.

Adds "public water authority" to the definition of "participating public employer" eligible to enroll employees in the Arkansas Public Employees' Retirement System.

Defines "public water authority" as any authority created under the Water Authority Act that has elected by majority board vote to participate in the Arkansas Public Employees' Retirement System.
