Out-of-state physicians who perform patient care services initiated in Arkansas through any medium, including electronic means, are engaged in the practice of medicine in Arkansas and subject to Arkansas State Medical Board regulation.

Services covered include performance or interpretation of X-ray examinations and preparation or interpretation of pathological material affecting patient diagnosis or treatment.

Exemptions apply to medical specialists providing only episodic consultation services, physicians consulting with medical schools, insurance coverage decisions, services unavailable in Arkansas, and physicians seeing patients in person in another jurisdiction.

The Arkansas State Medical Board may exempt additional acts by rule.
