The Arkansas State Medical Board shall not require specialty medical board recertification or maintenance of certification to practice medicine in the state.

Hospitals licensed by the Department of Health cannot deny physician hospital staff, admitting privileges, or employment solely based on the absence of maintenance of certification, except as required by medical staff bylaws.

Hospitals may still require physicians to undergo remedial or corrective courses or training as mandated by quality improvement committees.

Insurance companies cannot deny reimbursement to physicians or prevent them from participating in provider networks based solely on a decision not to participate in maintenance of certification.

Insurance companies cannot discriminate in reimbursement levels based solely on a physician's decision not to participate in maintenance of certification.
