AR SB54

Amends Arkansas Code § 14-51-301(b)(1)(C) to create exemptions to the maximum age limit for fire department appointments.

Exempts applicants with at least 2 years of previous experience as a paid firefighter at another fire department, provided their years of firefighter experience subtracted from their age leaves a remainder of no more than 32 years.

Exempts applicants applying for positions where primary job functions are administrative, managerial, or supervisory in nature.

Exempts current or former military service members within 3 years of separation or retirement from the regular or reserve component of the uniformed services of the United States.
