SB56 Summary

• Increases the Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board from 12 to 15 members by expanding the at-large business and industry category from 6 to 9 members

• Eliminates the separate categories for members selected from public two-year colleges and public four-year universities boards

• Requires at least one of the nine at-large members to have strong interest and commitment to economic and workforce development

• Requires at least one of the nine at-large members to have experience in knowledge-based technology field

• All members appointed by the Governor must not be current members of any public two-year or four-year campus board
