AR SB617

Repeals Arkansas Code Title 9, Chapter 28, Subchapter 11, which established the Arkansas Coalition for Juvenile Justice Board.

Eliminates the board structure that consisted of 15 to 33 members appointed by the Governor with expertise in juvenile justice, delinquency prevention, law enforcement, social services, and youth development.

Removes board responsibilities including supervising funds under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 2002, pursuing federal funding opportunities, and overseeing Division of Youth Services expenditures.

Eliminates the requirement for the board to review reports and plans from appointed groups and committees focused on core requirements of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act.

Removes quarterly reporting obligations to the Governor and legislative committees, and eliminates the requirement to submit state juvenile justice plans biennially to the Governor and General Assembly.
