Arkansas Medicaid Program must cover any opioid antagonist drug approved by the FDA on or before the effective date of this section for preventing relapse to opioid dependence and other substance use disorders.

Arkansas Medicaid Program may cover opioid antagonist drugs approved after the effective date if they are FDA-approved for preventing relapse to opioid dependence and other substance use disorders.

Medicaid may replace a covered opioid antagonist with another FDA-approved antagonist if the replacement is proven to be more effective and more cost-effective than the existing covered drug.

Coverage of opioid antagonists shall be provided as a pharmacy benefit under the Arkansas Medicaid Program.
