Healthcare insurers may exercise recoupment from healthcare providers only during the 18-month period after the date the claim was paid, except in cases of fraud by the provider.

Healthcare providers may submit corrected claims for up to 6 months after recoupment for services actually provided but billed in error without intent to defraud.

Healthcare insurers exercising recoupment must provide healthcare providers with a written or electronic statement specifying the basis for the recoupment.

The recoupment statement must contain minimum information as required by Arkansas Code § 23-63-1804.

Terminological changes replace "health care" with "healthcare" throughout the relevant code sections.
