Matt DeCample, former spokesman for Attorney General and Governor Mike Beebe, died on March 3, 2019, at age 44 after a three-year battle with rare and aggressive liver cancer.

DeCample began his Arkansas career as a newsroom employee at Little Rock television station KATV and was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer at age 41, approximately one and a half years after the Beebe administration ended.

Following his government work, DeCample became a media relations and communications consultant, earning recognition for honesty, humility, intelligence, sincerity, kindness, dependability, quick wit, and an ever-present smile.

The Senate remembers and thanks DeCample for his service and contributions to the State of Arkansas.

A copy of the resolution shall be provided to DeCample's parents, Linda and Richard DeCample, by the Secretary of the Senate upon adoption.
