AR HB1193

Amends Arkansas Code § 6-13-611(c) to establish timeframes for filling school district board vacancies by majority vote of remaining directors: 30 days for most vacancies and 60 days for vacancies under subdivision (a)(8).

Allows the county quorum court to fill a board vacancy if only a minority of board members remains due to multiple vacancies.

Allows the county quorum court to fill a board vacancy if the school board of directors fails to fill the position within the permitted timeframe (30 or 60 days depending on vacancy type).

Requires appointees to be qualified electors of the school district who reside in the same zone as the vacant position, if applicable.
