Effective January 1, 2023, the offices of sheriff and tax collector in Yell County become separate positions instead of combined.

Yell County electors shall elect both a sheriff and a tax collector at the 2022 general election, with both officers taking office on January 1, 2023.

Both the sheriff and tax collector must provide bond for faithful performance of their respective duties as required by law.

Compensation for both officers shall be determined by the Yell County Quorum Court within minimum and maximum ranges set by the General Assembly, with authority to hire deputies and establish allowances.
