AR HB1438

Amends Arkansas Code Title 19, Chapter 11, Subchapter 2 to add new section 19-11-282 requiring state agencies to submit decisions to void, terminate, or cancel contracts for legislative review before taking action.

State agencies must submit voiding, termination, or cancellation decisions to the Legislative Council or, if the General Assembly is in session, the Joint Budget Committee for review.

Applies to contract actions resulting from nonappropriation of funds or in accordance with contract provisions.

Requires state agencies to include a written statement of reasons for voiding, terminating, or canceling a contract with their submission.

Executive head of the submitting state agency must attend the Legislative Council or Joint Budget Committee meeting(s) where the decision is being reviewed.
