Prohibits placement of pregnant or recently pregnant juveniles in solitary confinement, except when the juvenile committed physical or sexual assault, poses imminent threat to safety, or attempted escape, with exceptions for acts of violence resulting in serious injury or death.

Restricts placement of pregnant or recently pregnant adults in restrictive housing (confined 22+ hours per day) for 30 or more days, with limited exceptions for direct threats to safety or facility operations.

Requires housing assignments for pregnant inmates or detainees be made with a licensed medical provider and reviewed every 5 days if placed in restrictive housing for up to 30 days.

Prohibits solitary confinement for juveniles who are breastfeeding, suffering from postpartum depression or medically verifiable postpartum conditions, or caring for a child in a detention facility.

Applies restrictions to correctional facilities, local/regional detention facilities, and juvenile detention facilities, with narrow exceptions for inmates or detainees engaged in violent acts likely to cause serious physical injury or death.
