AR HB1570

Prohibits physicians and healthcare professionals from providing gender transition procedures (including puberty-blocking drugs, cross-sex hormones, and gender reassignment surgeries) to individuals under 18 years of age, with exceptions for disorders of sex development and treatment of complications from prior procedures.

Bans public funds, Medicaid reimbursement, and state/local government healthcare services from covering gender transition procedures for minors; prohibits tax deductions for individuals paying for such procedures.

Makes violations subject to professional discipline and allows individuals to bring civil claims for damages, injunctive relief, and attorney's fees up to 2 years after the cause of action accrues (or until age 20 for minors).

Prohibits health insurance plans in Arkansas from including reimbursement for gender transition procedures for persons under 18 years of age.

Became law on April 6, 2021, following override of the Governor's veto.
