AR HB1594

Allows the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education to grant teaching licenses to noncitizens who have received approval for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status, provided they meet all other state teaching requirements.

Requires applicants to have current and valid employment authorization documents issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service.

Requires applicants' DACA exemption status to be either unexpired or properly renewed.

Designates this law as a state law within the meaning of 8 U.S.C. § 1621.

Directs the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education to promulgate rules implementing this section by January 1, 2022, or as soon as practicable after Legislative Council approval.
