AR HB1702

Amends the definition of "bicycle" under Arkansas Code § 27-51-1801(1) to include use on a crosswalk in addition to public roads, bicycle paths, and rights-of-way.

Creates new section 27-51-1804 establishing rules for bicycle operation on crosswalks, requiring cyclists to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians.

Requires bicycle operators to give an audible signal before overtaking and passing a pedestrian on a crosswalk.

Grants cyclists lawfully operating on crosswalks all the same rights and duties applicable to pedestrians under § 27-51-1202, except as modified by the new yielding and signaling requirements.
