AR HB1816

Amends Arkansas Code § 6-16-106 to limit the types of flags that public schools may fly on their campuses in addition to the required United States and Arkansas flags.

Permits public schools to fly only three categories of additional flags: a flag representing the school, a county flag representing the county where the school is located, and a flag representing a foreign country associated with a foreign student delegation the school is welcoming or recognizing.

Requires school district boards of directors to procure a suitable Arkansas flag for each school and display it on the same staff or pole as the United States flag positioned immediately below it.

Prohibits public schools from preventing the flying of any flag that is permitted or required under this section or under the existing United States flag requirement in § 6-16-105.
