AR HB1890

Creates a joint study by the House and Senate Committees on Public Health, Welfare, and Labor to examine commercial applications of technology to reclaim and repurpose spent nuclear fuel rods

Requires the committees to hold their first meeting within 60 days of the bill's effective date and meet jointly at least once every two months to conduct the study

Authorizes the committees to contract with outside consultants if necessary to assist with the study

Requires the study to assess a specific program proposal to offer to the federal government including a proposed Arkansas location and funding request, plus assemble a stakeholder team to submit a funding application to the U.S. Department of Energy

Mandates a final written report be filed with the Legislative Council on or before December 1, 2022, with the study considered complete upon submission of this report
