AR HB1891

Amends Arkansas Code Title 6, Chapter 41, Subchapter 6 to establish a network of Certified Academic Language Therapists within the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education to provide dyslexia therapy to public school students.

Requires the Division to establish and coordinate a dyslexia therapy training program for educators that uses diagnostic, explicit, systematic, multisensory language intervention methods to improve reading skills and independence for students with dyslexia or written-language disorders.

Mandates annual convening of the network of therapists to provide updated guidance, create resources for schools and parents, and review reading outcomes data statewide.

Directs coordination of an International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council-accredited course to create additional pathways for certified teachers to develop reading science proficiency and expand the therapist network.

Allows education service cooperatives to support implementation by providing additional dyslexia services through regional consortiums.
