AR HB1894

Creates the Blue Ribbon Task Force To End Child Abuse consisting of 13 member categories including representatives from child welfare, education, healthcare, advocacy groups, legislative committees, and state-at-large appointees designated by the Governor, Speaker of the House, and President Pro Tempore of the Senate.

Task force members serve without compensation and must hold at least 6 meetings with 10 members constituting a quorum; the Governor designates the chair who must call the first meeting within 90 days of the act's effective date.

Task force shall study child abuse data, recommend programs and services for identifying and eliminating child abuse, and develop policy and educational material recommendations to help the state address child abuse.

Task force must file a final written report by July 1, 2022 to the House Committee on Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs and the Senate Interim Committee on Children and Youth detailing activities, findings, and recommendations.

Task force expires on December 31, 2022.
