Public schools and school districts may offer hunting safety courses to students in grades 5-12 as part of physical education and health and safety curriculum.

Hunting safety courses must be based on the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's hunter training and safety program under § 15-43-238 and taught by instructors meeting commission qualifications.

Schools offering hunting safety courses may use operable firearms as part of instruction, with "firearm" defined according to § 5-1-102(6).

The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education shall provide source materials for teaching hunting safety courses covering firearm safety, proper firearm handling, hunting techniques, and wildlife conservation.
