Changes investigation deadline for suspected adult maltreatment or long-term care facility resident maltreatment from 60 days to differentiated timelines based on allegation type.

Sets 90-day completion deadline for investigations involving allegations of exploitation.

Sets 60-day completion deadline for investigations involving any other type of adult maltreatment allegation.

Allows the Department of Human Services to extend investigations for up to an additional 45 days if unable to complete the investigation or written report due to untimely or uncooperative records, interviews, or information from necessary sources.

Became effective April 5, 2021.
