Requires students in grades 1-6 enrolled in public schools and open-enrollment charter schools not configured as elementary schools to participate in visual art and music classes.

Modifies grade 5-6 requirements to allow students in these grades to participate in visual arts or performing arts instruction instead of both visual art and music.

Extends visual arts or performing arts instruction requirement to grade 6 students in non-elementary configured schools, aligning them with grades 7-8 requirements.

Ensures children with disabilities or other special needs are included in visual art and music programs.

Allows students in grades 7-8 and grade 6 (in non-elementary schools) to choose between visual arts instruction or performing arts instruction, with both options including instruction, appreciation, and application components.
