County election commissioners must take the oath before a justice or judge of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Circuit Court, District Court, or County Court; the county clerk; the clerk of the circuit court; or a justice of the peace within 30 days of selection.

The county clerk must file the oath in their office and forward a duplicate to the Secretary of State.

A county election coordinator position is created and must be designated by majority vote of the county board of election commissioners to attend required training; the State Board of Election Commissioners will not provide training or compensation to coordinators not officially designated.

The State Board of Election Commissioners must identify at least one person not employed by any county each year to receive the same training as a county election coordinator and receive compensation for attending training.

Spouses of county board of election commissioners and county party chairs may work as poll workers if no objection is filed with the county board of election commissioners within 10 calendar days after the list of officials is posted.
