Extends the statute of limitations for collecting medical debt from 2 years to 5 years from the date services were performed or provided, or from the date of the most recent partial payment, whichever is later.

Applies only to medical services performed or provided after March 31, 1985, by physicians or other medical service providers.

Becomes effective only if the federal Consumer Protection for Medical Debt Collections Practices Act (H.R. 5330, 116th Congress) becomes law on or before January 1, 2026.

Bill does not take effect if the referenced federal legislation does not become law by the January 1, 2026 deadline.
