• Establishes a toll-free hotline operated by the Attorney General to receive complaints about election law violations, with procedures also allowing written complaints by mail, email, or fax.

• Persons convicted of misdemeanor or felony election law violations are barred from serving as election officials in subsequent elections.

• Requires the Attorney General to report all complaints to the Joint Performance Review Committee within 45 days following certified general election results, and allows the Committee to investigate violations referred by the Attorney General's office.

• Expands State Board of Election Commissioners' authority to impose sanctions including decertification of election officials, state takeover of county elections for severe violations, and withholding state turnback funds when the state conducts elections on behalf of a county.

• Makes knowingly filing a false election law violation claim a Class A misdemeanor.
