AR SB88

Increases the Arkansas Board of Hearing Instrument Dispensers from 7 voting members to 7 voting members plus 1 nonvoting advisory member appointed by the Governor for 3-year terms subject to Senate confirmation.

Requires at least 4 members to be licensed hearing instrument dispensers with 3+ years of valid licensure, with the Governor consulting the Arkansas Hearing Society before appointments.

Changes the physician specialist requirement from a single member to a nonvoting advisory position held by a physician licensed in otology or otolaryngology in Arkansas.

Increases consumer representatives from 1 to 2 members appointed at large, who must not be actively engaged in or retired from hearing instrument dispensing and cannot participate in examination grading.

Modifies the quorum requirement from any 5 of 8 members to a majority of board members needed to conduct business, with the advisory member not counting toward quorum.
