Jefferson Elementary School in Little Rock, Arkansas was named a National Blue Ribbon School, one of only 367 schools nationally and 5 schools in Arkansas to receive this honor from the U.S. Department of Education.

The school's recognition is based on closing the achievement gap among students and achieving significantly higher test scores since 2015 through joint efforts of students, teachers, and parents.

Jefferson Elementary maintains low staff turnover, consistently ranks in the top 10 percent in academics, and features high expectations for academics and behavior in a positive and caring environment.

The school employs data-driven instruction through Professional Learning Communities and has an active parent-teacher organization that participates in decision-making processes and community involvement events.

The Arkansas Senate recognizes and commends Jefferson Elementary School for this achievement, with an appropriate copy of the resolution to be provided to the school's principal.
