Coach Tom Harrell coached his thirty-second season with Mountainburg Dragons High School football program in fall 2021 and retired from coaching and education in December 2021.

Harrell was named head football coach at Mountainburg High School before the 1990 season after initially being offered a football coaching position when he applied for a junior basketball coaching job.

Under Harrell's leadership, the Dragons achieved over 67 wins in their most successful decade and have not had a losing season since the 2000s.

The Senate honors Coach Tom Harrell as the longest-tenured active high school football coach in Arkansas, joining other legendary coaches with 30+ years at one school including Mike Malham, Jarrell Williams, David Alpe, Bernie Cox, Sam Coleman, and Frank Vines.

A copy of the resolution shall be provided to Coach Tom Harrell by the Secretary of the Senate upon adoption.
