Major Dean Douglas II was born May 27, 1971, in Hampton, Virginia, and died November 26, 2021, in Little Rock, Arkansas, from an injury suffered while serving with Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services.

Major Douglas served in the United States Navy starting in 1989 and participated in Operation Desert Storm, and later worked as a paramedic and Captain volunteer with the Gravel Ridge Fire Department.

Major Douglas served Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services for 28 years and assisted with Hurricane Katrina response efforts in 2005.

As an organ and tissue donor, Major Douglas enabled 8 organ recipients to receive transplants after his death.

The Senate mourns Major Douglas's passing and expresses condolences to his surviving wife Brandy, children Bralee, Kameron, and Mattie, parents Dean and Ernestine Douglas, and other family members and friends.
