Appropriates $4,500,000 from the cash fund to the Auditor of State-Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys for extra help and associated matching costs for fiscal year 2021-2022.

Authorizes hiring of up to 45 temporary or part-time employees at rates of pay not to exceed those provided in the Uniform Classification and Compensation Act.

Declares an emergency due to COVID-19 creating a backlog in the criminal justice system and stress on state prosecutors, requiring deputy prosecuting attorneys to reduce criminal case backlogs statewide.

Becomes effective upon gubernatorial approval, expiration of the veto period, or veto override by the legislature.
