SB 56 Summary

• Establishes maximum of 3 regular employees for the Department of Health - Arkansas Minority Health Commission for fiscal year 2022-2023: one ADH Director (Grade GS14), one Health Program Specialist I (Grade GS06), and one Media Specialist (Grade GS06).

• Appropriates $237,583 from the Miscellaneous Agencies Fund Account for personal services and operating expenses, including $169,716 for regular salaries and $55,183 for personal services matching.

• Appropriates an additional $25,949 from a cash fund deposited in State Treasury for personal services and operating expenses.

• Allows the Chief Fiscal Officer to establish a special Promotional Items appropriation account, with transfers from operating expenses requiring prior approval by the Arkansas Legislative Council or Joint Budget Committee.

• Effective July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, with all disbursements subject to state procurement laws, accounting procedures, revenue stabilization law, and other fiscal control laws.
