AR HB1244

Allows Arkansas drivers to carry a digital copy of their driver's license on a mobile device or personal computer in addition to a physical license, which can be displayed upon demand to law enforcement or Office of Driver Services employees.

Establishes a $10.00 fee for the optional digitized driver's license available to applicants with a valid Arkansas driver's license or those renewing their license, with fees deposited to the State Central Services Fund.

Defines a "digitized driver's license" as a downloadable data file on a mobile device containing all data elements from the physical license and displaying the current license status (valid, expired, suspended, etc.).

Prohibits displaying a digitized driver's license from serving as consent for law enforcement to search other data or applications on the mobile device, and requires law enforcement to promptly return the device after verifying identity and license status.

Permits both public and private entities to accept digitized driver's licenses for all state purposes authorized for regular driver's licenses, effective February 1, 2025.
