Establishes minimum dementia training requirements for staff at assisted living facilities serving residents with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias, effective upon passage with 90-day implementation period.

Requires covered direct service and administrative staff to complete 4 hours of initial dementia training covering Alzheimer's disease, person-centered care, assessment and care planning, activities of daily living, and dementia-related behaviors and communication.

Mandates 2 hours of annual continuing education on dementia for all covered staff members, including new information on best practices in treatment and care.

Requires trainers to have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in dementia care, health care, gerontology, nursing, or facility administration, with no disciplinary actions on their license.

Prohibits facilities from charging staff for training costs and requires employees to receive normal compensation while attending required trainings; Department of Human Services must adopt implementing rules by January 1, 2024.
