AR HB1581

Amends Arkansas Code § 4-56-104 to establish required standards of care for licensed engineers and registered architects in construction contracts, including performing services with ordinary professional skill and care and only as expeditiously as prudent.

Voids and makes unenforceable any construction contract provision that establishes a different standard of care than the standard defined in the bill for engineers and architects.

Declares it against public policy and voids any construction contract provision requiring a party to name the other party as an additional insured on the party's professional liability or workers' compensation policy.

Applies these new requirements to construction contracts and agreements entered into on and after September 1, 2023.
