Redevelopment districts may exist for up to 25 years, or up to 40 years if bonds issued under the original or amended plan would not be fully paid within 25 years.

Local governing bodies must adopt an ordinance terminating the redevelopment district upon expiration of the applicable time period.

Districts cannot be terminated while bonds remain outstanding.

Redevelopment bonds or notes shall mature over a period not exceeding 30 years, replacing the previous requirement to match the district's termination date.
