AR HB1809

Requires all child support payments received by a physical custodian or payee to be used for the benefit of the minor child or children for whom support is ordered.

Allows a court, on its own motion or upon verified motion by the payor showing good cause (including evidence that the child's needs are not being met), to order the custodian or payee to provide an accounting of expenses paid with child support payments.

Requires the custodian or payee to demonstrate to the court how child support payments were used for the child's benefit when ordered to do so.

Permits courts to prescribe the form, substance, and time frame for accounting requirements and to include accounting provisions in initial support orders.

Allows courts to require custodians or payees to provide accounting information to the payor upon request with sufficient advance notice.
