The Arkansas House of Representatives encourages the United States Congress and President to pursue membership in the Commonwealth of Nations, an association of 56 sovereign nations.

Membership would provide economic benefits through strengthened trade and investment ties with Commonwealth member nations that collectively represent a significant portion of global economic activity.

Membership would enhance U.S. diplomatic standing by providing a forum to engage in dialogue and cooperation on human rights, democracy, development, and other global challenges.

Membership would strengthen cultural ties and increase cultural exchange between the United States and other Commonwealth member nations that share historical and cultural heritage.

Upon adoption, the Chief Clerk of the House must provide copies of the resolution to the U.S. Senate majority leader, U.S. House Speaker, Arkansas congressional delegation, and the President of the United States.
